For this quintessentially Midwestern photoshoot, I met my cousin Callyn in a green field sprinkled with wildflowers and grass. All I wanted was for the portraits in a field to feel effortless, for the white dress to be an extension of her spirit, and to not find a billion ticks on my body in the hours to come.
The premise was simple, as was the shoot itself. We walked into the field and didn’t look back, working just off of the landscape, the dress and the human Cally is. During this shoot, I practiced more of my action based prompts, encouraging her to stay in motion and trying new techniques to reveal those moments. Everything came together seamlessly, and it was a joy to edit these photos and share them with the world.
I can’t speak for the imagery, you’ll have to decide for yourselves. And as for the ticks, I came out unscathed.
