When I moved back to Minnesota, I knew it was time I traveled to Silver Bay. The quaint lakeside town is just an hour drive from Duluth. Not to mention it is one of the best places to elope in Minnesota, with crazy rock formations and an otherworldly black sand beach.
Younger me would have died to know that Minnesota held such beauty. So, I made the most out of the excursion by planning a styled elopement shoot with a few talented vendors. Models Grace + Clay met me at the Black Beach Municipal Campground, my home for the night. And just two minutes from the beach!
Looking for places to elope in Minnesota? The North Shore is one of the best places to elope, with spectacular views and exceptional stays and activities. And, if you’re looking for a Minnesota elopement photographer, I offer custom packages to fit your budget and needs.
The Styled Shoot
Grace + Clay are a gorgeous couple from Rochester, MN and just celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary. Oh, and did I mention that they drove more than 5 hours for this shoot!?
I also worked with a few local wedding vendors to make this vision a reality.
The woodsy bouquet is by Florology, out of Hudson, WI. I absolutely LOVE that she uses foraged goods to create unique pieces of art. The stunning vintage dress comes from Sienna Cole Bridal in Forest Lake. Lisa crafts spectacular gowns, breathing life into vintage pieces and working on her own eco-conscious lines. This cotton gown is one of her newest creations. The gorgeous bangles are courtesy of K Kay Designs.
This shoot is the third of my “Four Corners Styled Shoot Series.” The project is all about rediscovering my creative spirit and honing in on my photographic style through experimentation. Each of the four shoots dives into a different element: earth, water, fire and air. The inspiration of this shoot is fire, and by extension, passion.
A gallery of images from the last shoot, inspired by air and shot in Duluth, is available here.
